History

HV principals are early investors of Sri Lanka, having participated in Sri Lanka’s first international sovereign bonds issuance in 2007. This has been followed up by an acquisition of a non-banking distressed Financial Institution during the consolidation process of the Banking Sector in 2014. Capital was invested, new investors and local management was brought in to balance the company. The Institution is now a provider of unique financial solutions from large corporations to small and medium enterprises and households serving more than 30,000 customers across the country with 6 branches. It achieved Rs 500m net profit in FY2019. It has announced its listing on Colombo Stock Exchange in 2021.

Dhakshitha Bogollagama

He is also the Chairman of Lankaila (Pvt) Ltd and Pine Captial Group which operates as an investment holding and management services firm. Mr. Bogollagama worked with the Australia and New Zealand Bank in wealth management and served as the Vice President, Head of South Asia and as a Partner for other Asset Management and Investment Banking firms in Singapore. He created one of the first investment consultancies specialized on Sri Lanka in Singapore known as DSL Advisors (Pvt) Ltd as a platform to channel foreign investment into Sri Lanka and acquired a Sri Lankan Finance company in order to create a platform for long term foreign direct investment into Sri Lanka. He is the former Chairman and Director General of the National Enterprise Development Authority (“NEDA”) of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. He recently successfully completed hosting the Pioneering Entrepreneurship Education (EE) series by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” with over 100 international participants which has elevated Sri Lanka as Mr. Bogollagama took over the Chair of prestigious UNESCO-APEID EE series, making it the first South Asian country to clinch this Chair. He also has extensive exposure in international relations with bilateral visits to multiple countries like India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Greece, China, U.A.E, the UK and the US. He has attended multilateral Forums in India (World Economic Summit & The South Asian Association Regional Cooperation), Singapore (The 4th Shangri-La Dialogue: Korea - Asia Co-operation Dialogue), Philippines (ASEAN Regional Forum) and Myanmar (Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Having had his primary education at the Colombo International School in Sri Lanka he had his higher education at the Kings School in the United Kingdom, the George Washington University in the United States and at the Singapore Management University in Singapore. As part of his graduate studies he served at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Maersk Shipping group in Spain.

Sarath Stembo

Mr. Stembo was the Chairman of the National School of Business Management (“NSBM”) Green University Town is the first-ever green university in South Asia and sets an example for the whole South Asia by paving the way for environmental sustainability, established under the Ministry of Industry & Skills Development. He was also the Managing Director Magampura Port Management Company and a Director of the Ministry of Ports and Shipping a Director of the National Enterprise Development Authority of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and City Finance Corporation Limited (currently known as Lanka Credit Business Finance), a Finance company regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He has extensive experience as a banker for Bank of Ceylon, starting from 1973 working up to 2010 in various positions and venues. He is the one who introduced Visa Electron Card (1st Debit card by BOC), Master card and SMART card technology into the Sri Lankan market. He is an F.I.B, Fellow Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and holds a diploma in Business Administration from University of Colombo. Apart from the famed banking career, Mr. Stembo has been a consultant to the Ministry of Plantation (2005-2015, Managing Director Kalubowila Tea Factory Limited (2014-2015), Director for Tea Small Holding Development Authority (2011-2015), Director / Chief Executive Officer at Teashakthi fund and a member of the Governing Board of the institute of Bankers as well as the President of the Associates of Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

C.A.N. Perera

Mr. Perera was the Chairman Gem & Jewellery Research and Training Institute (GJRTI) and a Director of the National Gem & Jewellery Authority (NGJA) of the Sri Lankan Government and Managing Director of Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation (SLECIC) of the Ministry of Enterprise Development and Advanced Technology. He was the Director-General of the Lakshman Kadiragamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign affairs. He held the position of Director General of The Service Bureau of Indian Line of Credit, CEO and advisor to Minister of Industries and the Chairman of the Regional Co-operation Group (Asia) of the International Union of Credit & Investment. (Berne Union) 2007/2008. As Secretary General of Yugadekma Industrial Exhibitions with offered local participants a macro perspective of Sri Lankan industries and facilitated interaction with foreign business representatives to explore new avenues for international trade with objective of broad basing the country’s industrial sector in keeping with global trends and regional economic development. He also has 30 years of work experience at Uniliver Ceylon Limited where he gained overall management exposure and a Member of Sri Lanka Cricket — Promotion and Marketing Committee. He is a fellow of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, Sri Lanka institute of Training and Development, Institute of Certified Professional Managers Justice.

Palitha Ganegoda

Mr. Ganegoda is the Chairman/Managing Director of the Ocean Music Company (B.O.I Project) since 1996. He served as the Dy. High Commissioner-SLHC in New Delhi 2007/2012. He was also the Dy. Chairman/ Board Member of the National Gem & Jewelry Authority (NGJA) of the Sri Lankan Government 2006/2007 and served as the Chairman/Managing Director of the National Paper Company Ltd from 2002/ 2004. Having held the position of Deputy Chairman/Council Member of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution from April to November in 2005, was also the General Manager of the Hyo Jeong Lanka(Pvt) Ltd.(B.O.I Project) 1993/1996. He was the Act. General Manager of the Sri Lanka Co-operative Industries Union Ltd.(CEYESTA) 1976/1992. Mr. Ganegoda was the President of Junior Chamber in Gampaha ,Vice President of the Junior Chamber Sri Lanka in 1989,Vice President of a Gampaha Cricket Club and a member of a Y.M.B.A Gampaha. He was awarded a merit certificate for outstanding service in the export sector by Korean Trade Association (KOTRA) ,certificate of honors for active participation in research activities and a Scholarship to Moscow Central Soviet Institute to follow a diploma course in Management. Further, he was nominated as a chief delegate to J.C.I World Congress held in Birmingham and represented NAMM Show in U.S.A & Frankfruit Musik Mess in German in every year since 1996. Also, he was a member of the delegation to the partnership summit 2007 Bangalore, India. He graduated from University of London with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Management in 1999 and he is reading for a Master in Business Studies at faculty of graduate studies in University of Colombo. He studied about Licentiate of Plastic and Rubber Industry from University of Moratuwa and Obtained a Diploma in management from Central Soviet Institute in Moscow, U.S.S.R in 1986.
